Welcome to the NMACTE Pre-Conference Program!

Join our in-person participants right here virtually via Zoom. Today’s training is offered for those participants who registered specifically for the NMACTE pre-conference program. Some in-person participants will be touring the newly remodeled Early College Academy/Career Enrichment Center during the morning session.

College & Career Ready Counselors:
Resources for Resilience

Gain an understanding of how college/career knowledge for counselors and the level of professional development depends on access and funding. Understanding of current changes, trends and its impa ct on the work we do to support students and how we c an stay current with the trends and how we remain resilient during difficult times and ongoing changes. Counselors will learn how to obtain free and reliable resources that will enhance the work they do with students. Counselors will leave with ready-to-use resources to implement into their existing programs.

Diane Campbell has been a professional school a counselor for over 17 years. She has worked at the university, middle and high school levels, supporting students in college/career development and planning. She is also the current Director of College Counseling at Liberty Common High School in Ft. Collins, CO and Counselor support for College Guidance Network.

There is an informal networking lunch for the in-person attendees from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Virtual attendees may enjoy lunch on their own during this time and then rejoin the virtual program below at 1:00.

Enhance Curriculum by Integrating Ethics

Ethics is the foundation of great leadership. Teaching students to make good decisions based on ethics helps form the core foundation of ethical leadership. These resources can work in any content area and your teachers can access these materials for FREE. Come learn about ethics resources that are available through the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative High School Program, how to integrate ethics into the classroom, and how to access these resources for FREE.

Ask the CTE Experts Your Probing Questions!

Whether you are new or an experienced educator in the field of CTE, this session will be for you! It will be filled with LOTS of great information; come prepared with your questions… the panel will have CTE experts from all areas, including: CTE directors, PED, HED, NM Workforce, Counselors, Administrators, etc. You won’t want to miss it! Come with your questions regarding setting up new programs, writing grants, building relationships with industry, apprenticeships & internships… ANYTHING! It will be a fun and enjoyable discussion around all things CTE.
